Belvedere Palace

Built by Prince Eugene of Savoy, Belvedere Palace consists of Lower Belvedere, completed in 1717, and Upper Belvedere, completed in 1723.  It is Upper Belvedere that now houses the magnificent paintings of Austrian artists including Gustav Klimt and other European masters.  The highlight is Klimt’s The Kiss on which Klimt used gold leaf over oil paint for a fantastic visual effect.  Photography is not allowed in the museum  so my pics showcase the lovely building and grounds.
